Council Tax

  • Council Tax is collected by North Norfolk District Council
    It is made up of  4 elements
    • Norfolk County Council  – 75% of the total
    • Police Precept – 14% of the total
    • North Norfolk District Council – 8%
    • Briston Parish Council Precept –  3%
  • Briston Parish Council Precept
    • Each year the Parish Council has to prepare a document detailing the money required to run the services we are responsible for
    • The precept for 2023-2024 was £56,973
    • The precept for 2024-2025 is £60,416 – see details below

The Precept – The Current Budget

Please note that both the Briston Gala and the Bonfire and Fireworks event are self funding, so revenue from one year’s event is used to fund the next year.
The Briston Pavillion and the Recreation ground are managed by the Higginbottom Recreational Charity and funded separately from the Precept
The Copeman Centre is run by a Management Committee and funded separately from the Precept.
